Suzanne Plunkett
Artist / Program Description:

Bringing literature to life is what professional storyteller/actor Chris Fascione does as he acts out children’s literature while motivating kids to read through his fun, high-spirited, participatory programs. Chris combines acting, storytelling, comedy, and juggling to educate, entertain, and lead children into the world of books. Chris is full of boundless energy and humor; presenters have referred to him as “Robin Williams for Kids.” He delights students, teachers, and parents nationwide with his wondrously imaginative storytelling.

“Chris Fascione is the most talented literature-based storyteller in America today. If you have one program in your school or library this year, make sure it is his.” (Esmé Raji Codell, author of Educating Esmé, Diary of a Teacher’s First Year)

Chris acts out contemporary and classic children’s stories which are available in school or local libraries. Programs include: Bringing Literature to Life, Juggling Funny Stories, Around the World (multi-cultural folktales), Happy Halloween and Winter Tales. Performances may include authors Mark Twain and Washington Irving, Anansi tales, Pecos Bill, or poems like Casey at the Bat. Each show is tailored for the specific age group or special needs of the audience, from pre-school to eighth grade in-school performances, to family nights and all-age library shows.
